The Self Service Kiosk Mode in BotX POS allows restaurants to turn any iPad into a self-ordering station. This mode gives customers the ability to browse the menu, place their orders, and pay independently—reducing wait times and improving front-of-house efficiency.
Before enabling kiosk mode, make sure:
Your PAX A35 payment device is properly set up and connected.
The iPad is dedicated for kiosk use (not shared with regular POS functions).
Your menu is already configured under the QR Code menu (since kiosk mode uses this same menu setup).
Go to the Store Office menu on your iPad.
Tap Settings.
Navigate to Card Swiper Types.
Enter the IP address for your PAX device.
This is the same process used for setting up the PAX on a regular POS station.
Confirm that the iPad and the PAX device are on the same network.
Once the PAX device is connected:
Go back to the Store Office menu.
Select QR Code Menu.
From the left-hand menu, tap on Self Ordering.
This will launch Self Service Kiosk Mode on the iPad.
Once in kiosk mode:
The iPad will display your QR Code menu, optimized for customer interaction.
Guests can:
Browse the menu
Select their items
Customize orders (if options are set up)
Proceed to payment via the connected PAX A35 terminal
Add additional tip with their payment
After successful payment:
The kitchen ticket prints automatically
The order is logged just like an order placed from QR or POS
